Debuted with Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat (1996), in 1998 did a bold character with Aamir Khan for Mahesh Bhatt first time called Ghulam, it was praised but unable to reflect for Rani. Mukerji had her first prominent achievement with Karan Johar's blockbuster Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), for which she won her a Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award for her breakthrough performance in the movie. However, she did short cameo for a while in the film. In 2000 she did chain of movies which includes Badal, Hey Ram Hadh Kar Di Aapne, Bichhoo, Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega, Kahin Pyaar Na Ho Jaaye still unable to make any mark in Bollywood although she got nomination for Supporting Actor in Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega. In 2001 did another movie for Karan Johar another blockbuster and again a short role in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham (2001) her image also appeared visible and unable to gain more appear action for lead movie. She re-established & found her image with Saathiya (2002), which was commercially and critically successful. In 2004, her breakthrough performances in the hit Hum Tum and the critically acclaimed Yuva earned her the Best Actress and the Best Supporting Actress awards at the Filmfare, making her the first actress to win two major awards in the same year. She received unanimous praise for her role as a deaf-blind girl in the film Black (2005), as well as many awards for her memorable performance, establishing herself as a leading actress in Bollywood. From 2004-2005 she enjoyed her best of On-Screen time shared along Abhishek Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan and with Shahrukh Khan too. This span of duration acclaimed to be perfect Rani of the Bollywood which can lead through her powerful and positive acting in all sense. Till now she had done many movies with almost
every co-star last two years not made Rani more happier with her movies
